Cookery Demonstrations
As well as the 6 main demos detailed below, there will also be a Hemp Smoothie Demo and a Raw Food Demo in the talk rooms and throughout the day, Kids Cookery Demos in the Wulfrun Foyer. See this venue map to find your way to the cookery demos.
Cookery Demos in the Wulfrun Hall (lower ground floor, lift available)
12 noon - 12.50pm - Vegan Vitality
With Liz Hughes of Our Lizzy Cooking. Liz has combined her skills as a teacher and cook to create vegan cookery courses from her purpose built kitchen in Malvern, Worcestershire. She offers a variety of courses which are suitable for both beginners and experienced cooks. She also offers vegan bed and breakfast accommodation. www.ourlizzy.com
Want to eat a more healthy diet? Liz will show you how to prepare some simple nutritious meals and snacks. These are all gluten free and perfect for packed lunches. Liz will be demonstrating Quinoa Salad, Carrot and Courgette Fritters, and Herby Bean Pate.
1.10pm - 2pm - Quick-Fix Vegan!
With Jane Easton, Food & Cookery Coordinator at Viva! and the science-based health & nutrition charity The Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation
Watch Jane as she cooks delicious Scrambled Tofu Supper, Courgette & Black Bean Mellow Chilli Mexican Wraps, Sour Crème and Bread Pudding Tiramisu.
2.20pm - 2.50pm - How to Make a Yummy Vegan Chocolate Mousse that's Practically Good for You!
With Dr Birgit Kehrer, a healthy eating/living trainer and Director of ChangeKitchen CIC, the Birmingham based event caterers, who are one of the main caterers at the festival. www.changekitchen.co.uk
Birgit will share vegan dessert ideas with you, including her Chilli & Ginger Chocolate Mousse recipe.
3.10pm - 3.40pm - Shine on Raw
With Rebecca Kane, author, radio presenter and founder of Shine on Raw
Rebecca will demonstrate her famous raw chocolate brownies and also raw 'pasta' and pesto.
4pm - 4.50pm - Autumn Feast
With Liz Hughes of Our Lizzy Cooking
Need some inspiration for your five a day? Lizzy will cook up some easy dishes making use of locally grown seasonal vegetables. Lizzy will be demonstrating Butternut Squash Risotto, Thai Green Curry with Tofu and Pumpkin, and Creamy Wild Mushrooms.
5.10pm - 6pm - Cakin' It - Vegan Baking the Easy Way
With Jane Easton, Food & Cookery Coordinator at Viva! and the science-based health & nutrition charity The Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation
Jane will demonstrate mouth watering Magic Muffins, Chocolate Cake with Mocha Ganache, Lemon Cake and Chocolate No-bake Fridge Cake!
